I was born on December 11, 1955, in a Russian city Ivanovo. I graduated from the Ivanovo State Textile Academy as a designer/pattern maker and moved to St Petersburg in 1978 where I got a knitwear designer position at The Fashion Dom (House).
I continued studying in St Petersburg at the Art Institute named after a famous Russian sculptor Mukhina from 1979 to 1981 ( art history and costume history).
I’ve been living in Finland since 1990. I had worked in the National Opera Theater in Finland, and then opened my own design studio.
I consider myself very fortunate – I’ve always done what I truly love, and it’s impossible to tell the difference between my hobby and work.
I love making costumes from the scratch – the entire design is mine; I am curious and fascinated with the product! I would even do the sewing myself since it’s not easy to find a good seamstress.
I love designing and making all kinds of costumes for special occasions: weddings, concerts, theater stage, figure skating competitions, gymnastics and dance competitions and much more.
I’ve been a producer as well, particularly I have brought Russian actors and singers to Finland, Estonia, and Sweden.
I’ve had both solo and group exhibits. I am a member of The Union of Russian Artists in Finland “Triada”. My artworks are in private collections in the USA, Russia, Finland, Japan, Canada and Spain.
